In honour of the second anniversary of his passing, this video takes us back to where it all began and highlights some of his achievements along the way. Sidney Alford, the founder of Alford Technologies, was a loveable, eccentric explosive engineer and doctor of chemistry. As a world-leading pioneer in explosive engineering and explosive charge technology, he was awarded an OBE in Her Majesty the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to explosive ordnance disposal. Born in Ilford, near London, his lifelong experience with explosives started at a young age when aircraft bombs were dropped in the night around his home during the Second World War.
