The Sanatorium of Valongo, officially called Sanatorium of Montalto or Sanatorium of Monte Alto, was a health establishment for tuberculosis patients, located in the former parish of São Pedro da Cova, in the municipality of Gondomar, Portugal. Despite its location, it is better known as the Sanatorium of Valongo. The sanatorium only operated for a short period, having been inaugurated in 1958 and closed in 1975, then entering a deep state of degradation. In 1998 and 2001, proposals were made to transform the building into a youth hostel, but both were rejected in parliament.
