Chandragiri–Jirang, often called the Mini Tibet of Odisha, lies in the scenic hills of Gajapati district. After the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959, many Tibetan refugees settled here under the guidance of the Dalai Lama, turning this quiet region into a vibrant centre of Tibetan culture and Buddhism. Today, the area is known for its peaceful monasteries, colourful stupas, and statues that symbolize Buddhist devotion. From the Buddha Shanti Stupa and the majestic Guru Padmasambhava Statue, to the serene monasteries like Neydo Kagyu and the grand Padmasambhava Mahavihara Monastery, the place radiates spirituality. Just nearby, the beautiful Khasada Waterfall offers the perfect touch of nature, completing the experience of culture, peace, and natural charm. This is the Day 1 of our Ganjam Gajapti Trip.
