This beautiful quiet refuge in the middle of the bustling city is a favorite of mine. The climb up the golden mount through lush gardens and flowing water feels sacred and I love the big gong at the first platform. The view from the top is spectacular and the gold buddhas all around give a feeling of reverence and reflection. I visited here on my first trip to Bangkok, so I made a point of finding it on this recent trip. The golden stupa at the top is mesmerizing with the golden tiles. If you visit, be sure to keep an eye out for the disturbing monument at the bottom sharing how vultures ate dead bodies there during the cholera epidemics! Did you love this video?
