Goat Placenta Hanging Out! How Long Until She Delivers It??

My goat placenta was hanging out! I showed up just minutes after she gave birth to two adorable does. The goat's placenta was still hanging out but I didn't interfere. Goats usually deliver the placenta 1 or 2 hours after they give birth but it can take up to 12 hours. It's important to make sure that it's all coming out in one piece. This can be a bit tricky because once it comes out the goat might eat it so if you stepped away and missed the placenta delivery and the goat ate it you might be asking yourself where is it when you get back. Just make sure that nothing is hanging out of the goat and that she is looking good. My goat did end up eating her placenta. If she didn't I would have buried it in the garden (it's a great fertilizer!) or I would have disposed of it in the woods. I raise Lamancha goats.
