Vintage Magnifier Lamp - complete teardown & restoration

I recently came across this 1980s Luxo optical magnifier lamp, which is just the sort of thing I was looking for for electronics inspection work. I've been fiddling with magnifying glasses, head-mounted visors, and diopters without liking any of them, so I jumped at the chance to use this great tool. Unfortunately it wasn't in great shape, so I had to start by tearing it down to parts and cleaning it up. I disassembled it used electrolysis, wire wheel, and polishing compound to clean up the rusty steel parts, and then went at the aluminum castings with scotchbrite and spraypaint to give them a more modern, hammertone finish. I'm really pleased with the result and I hope you enjoy watching the process as much as I've liked having this tool in my shop.
