I've apparently given myself tendonitis in every joint on my left side from trying to learn a muscle up. So this week, we're learning something more delicate while my body repairs itself. :) I've wanted to learn how to do this ever since I was a little kid and as an adult, this is how it went... If you're interested in pursuing this on your own, here are some pointers: 1. Experiment with different coin sizes. The half dollar coin works really well given my hands, but bigger isn't always better. I found trying to do the same with a (larger) poker chip was much harder. By the same token, trying with a dime was also a bad time. Find the coin that fits your hands. 2. Make sure you do this over a soft surface, or at the very least put down a towel. You'll be dropping that coin A LOT. 3. Get that coin as DIRTY and sticky as possible. You want to increase the friction between the backs of your fingers and that coin. Same goes for your hands. Do NOT wash before attempting this or the coin will just SHOOT off your squeaky clean fingers. 4. Make sure you specifically practice moving the coin with your pinky, as that's often the least coordinated finger and where the trick fails most often. The more muscle memory you build there, the easier this will be.
