Dr. Monica Cooper presented an introduction to grapevine red blotch virus (GRBV) ecology, physiological impacts, symptoms, and management. She discussed the Loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tool and described how to collect, process, and run samples of grapevine tissue to detect GRBV in grapevines. Practical applications of a statistical sampling process to identify patterns of GRBV incidence and spread in asymptomatic cultivars were discussed. The webinar was recorded on November 12, 2025 and targeted to growers and pest management professionals. For Master Gardeners and others serving home environments, please note that management methods, especially any pesticides mentioned, are not to be used without a clear understanding of their legal use.
