Moulana Rafique Haque, Imam of the Christian Street Markaz in London (known as the old Markaz), passes away due to Covid. May Allah grant him al Firdous. ❤️Ameen. He may not have been someone on social media. He may not have been super well known or whatever it is which impresses people these days. He was a man who served his community, led the Salah Fajr to Isha daily, led Teraweeh prayers and counselled the thousands who walked through the doors the last 30 years. Who was he? He became a hafiz of quran at young age from the house of Hafiz Patel Saheb (rh). He enrolled at darul uloom bury and was the class mate of Shaykh Saleem Dhorat. He was the Imam of Darul Uloom bury whilst studying and was appointed by Shaykh Yusuf Motala (rh) himself.
