The idea for this particular combination came from Lexie's line to Mark in season 5, "I'm a one woman wrecking ball, all I do is break you: your hand, your penis, your relationships, your life. I'd say our survival rate is about 3% and that's bad, but it's not nothing." At first it was just going to be a Slexie video but, as I began to outline it, I realized it worked really well for a bunch of other relationships on the show, such as Calzona, Crowen, and Japril. I also think the song would work really well for MerDer, but I think it works too well for them and I feel like I might want to make one that only focuses on them. So here we are with "Wrecking Ships"- a tribute to some of the most agonizing fictional relationships I've ever endured because Shonda Rhimes is the actual devil, as well as an incredibly painful and beautiful song.
