A favorite to many Heady fans, it’s one of those unique tracks that has withstand the test of time. It has inspired many, appearing online in piano covers, Christmas edits, a Scooter rip-off and much more. Willem created it in 2007, following his collabs with Abject and The Prophet. Released in June, it peaked during the festival season, but years later…it still hasn’t lost its power. One particular show is linked to ‘Rock Civilization’. Qlimax 2007. A show that brings back many memories. 4 years after Willem visits his first ever hardstyle event, Qlimax 2003, and falls in love with the genre, he rocks the Qlimax decks himself. Willem: “Qlimax 2003 is where it all started. I stayed sober all night, because I really wanted to get the full experience, save all my energy for the final hours. I stood front row, in awe with all these DJ’s. After that, I was sold. I wanted to create it, play it and live it. And so I did. I was always hoping, but never expected to end up playing at a legendary event like Qlimax. ‘Rock Cilivilzation’ was definitely a highlight in my set back then. One big trip down memory lane! ”Qlimax 2007 is the second Qlimax show he plays, and it feels like home. ‘Rock Civilization’ brings everyone to that particular set, that moment. 7 years later, in 2014, Willem drops it during the X-Qlusive Legends event in Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall.
