Practice you can do at home :: The Power Of Breathing

Most of us use a very little part of our lung capacity and this affects our well being. In the same way as you can get stronger with push-ups you can learn to use more of your lungs. This is done without effort and in a relaxed way in this practice. Scooby inspired me a lot in the making of this vidoe. Check out his channel for great videos on Home Workout:    / scooby1961   First a little background on breathing and what function it have. Every cell in our body needs oxygen to live. The body needs oxygen to: create energy from food clean toxins out fuel the muscles strengthen the immune system and the list goes on ... In order for oxygen to get to these cells, it must be transported through the airways of the lungs. Have you ever experienced the following ? you wake up in the morning and you look at the clock and although you have slept 8 hours you feel like a wreck. your body feels heavy and it is a nightmare to get to work or school. You feel it is really a struggle to focus at the task you have in front of you. Most people use only a small part of their lung capacity and this affects the oxygen levels in the body. Memory loss, Poor digestion, Irritability and Muscle aches and pains are just some of the results. But there is hope. In the same way as you can get stronger with pushups or get better at reading you can practice breathing. At first it is a conscious process but later it spills into your everyday life and you do not need to think about it. many sports such as running, jogging and swimming forces you to use more of your lungs and off course this is a good thing. What most people do not realise is that you can work on your breath directly in a more easy way and this will also affect your sport performance and work life in a good way. You do not need to be a yogi, free-diver or elite athlete to use the powerful methods that I am going to describe for you. p.s. Breath in and out through the nose in the practice described in the video.
