Ohio Skiing │ Mad River Mountain Ski Resort 2021

My goal for the 2020-2021 ski season was to ski all five Ohio resorts and Mad River Mountain was the fifth and final stop on the tour. It's located about 2.5 hours from Cleveland, so it's a hike to get there. We made it into an overnight, rented a house, and looked forward to getting some runs in at Ohio's largest ski resort. Things didn't quite work out as planned. We skied Friday night, and that went pretty well. It was COLD. Like zero degree cold with the windchill. Brutal! Between the cold and the late hour, the children didn't last too long. Also, the lift lines were pretty long, so we only got in a handful of runs. On the following day, we ended up getting to the resort late. It was crowded, cold, and the children didn't want to ski. Finally, I got my son to agree to go. He and I got in a couple of runs before he decided to quit. My daughter threw a tantrum about not skiing. She finally relented and did one run with mom. Five plus hours of driving for basically five runs. Ughh. It was not the most productive ski trip. Still, it was good to see the hill. My daughter and I can say we've skied all of the Ohio resorts this year.
