In this video I will install a new hood insulation pad and a new hood seal on my 1987 560SL. If you want factory results I suggest you first removed the hood. It is not that difficult to do. Here's a link to my video 560SL Engine Hood Removal: • R107 - 560SL Engine Hood / Bonnet Removal All the R107 manuals and resources in one place — free and online. 👉 https://TonyLiveTV.com I know a lot of people out there are doing this job with the hood attached to the car, but I feel it is much easier, better and faster to remove the hood and grill and do this on your back porch. Watch this video and see how I did it. This is what I purchased to complete this job. Normally I would most always purchase genuine MB, but I feel the GK Hood Insulation Pad is better and 1/2 the price. I got mine at autohausAZ: https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/1076820326 For the rear hood seal I went with genuine MB. I got mine from eeuroparts.com: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/1798... I used the 3M™ Super Trim Spray Adhesive. I purchased this at my local Autozone. This is great with open or closed cell foam which is exactly what we are working with. I also needed to replace the Windshield Washer Nozzles: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/5371... And the Washer Nozzle Heaters because they were broken: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/1947...
