They are very important, useful tools for securing loads in vehicles. They come in two parts your first part is the ratchet handle itself, the second part is the webbing or the long tail end they're very easy to use. You simply get your ratchet handle, pull the release handle which is the little handle inside of it to open the handle. Inside they've got a little slot on the axle itself that is to feed the webbing through, if it's not pointing upwards it's going to be very difficult to feed the webbing through, so you can actually just ratchet through ensuring that it's pointing upwards to make it nice and simple later on. Once you've done that we're then going to attach it to the mounting point then going to get your long tail end attaching to the other mounting point. Pull your webbing through ensuring there's no twists in the webbing itself feed that through the underneath of the handle pulling it nice and tight. We can then ratchet the handle to tighten the load as you can see the load is now nicely secured it's nice and tight. To lock the handle to make sure it won't come undone during transit we simply pull the release handle and fully close the handle itself. That's now locked in place this can now not move anywhere. Once we've finished our journey we need to unload, we simply pull the release handle open up the ratchet fully we can then pull the webbing out ready for the next time you need to use it.
