Off the Beaten Path: Lapporten, Abisko

A 5D/4N loop starting and ending in Abisko Turiststation, going thru Lapporten - "the Gate to Lappland", crossing Kuolkusjokk river, passing Lake Áhpparjávri, and finally returning to Abisko via Kungsleden. The reason I opted for this loop, rather than spending some days on Kungsleden, was that I wanted more of that 'true wilderness' feeling you get when going off-trail (similar to Sarek NP). Roughly speaking, 2 of the 5 days were off-trail, while the other days were on anything between a well-marked trail like Kungsleden (day 5) and varying degrees of beaten paths, some easy to miss. 'Bushwhacking' can of coz be tiring/challenging - even more so for retirees LoL. But, if you do seek a special experience, you can't expect it to be served to you without putting in the required effort, right... Hope you enjoy the video 🙏 Cheers! Retiree in The Wild
