We are Globetrotting Through Retirement and have just concluded our 7-day Rick Steves Heart of Ireland tour. Starting in Ennis, we have traveled more than 430 miles through the Irish Countryside...from Dingle to Dublin...and so many small villages in between. A signature feature of the RS tours is to offer your WOW moments...for us there were many starting with Ireland's stunning scenery. Shades of green we had never seen before...and the coastline...from the Cliffs of Mohr to Slay Head Drive. Simply breathtaking! Another WOW......the historic sites. Spanning the centuries from medieval times to the early days of Christianity...and more recent history with the fight for the free state of Ireland. It was in those struggles that we see our final WOW, the people of Ireland. Proud in their heritage and still practicing the arts of centuries old skills and traditions....and that even includes pouring the perfect pint of Guinness! And I talked with some of our new friends about their WOW moments from our tour.
