A traditional sea shanty, often used to keep time when pulling on the ship's braces to swing the yards around, or when working on the downton pumps (the huge flywheels that resemble the wheels of a chariot, used to drive the bilge pumps). I'm joined here once again in harmony by the very talented Colette the Bard. The audio for this was recorded in 14 tracks, though I've kept the video to 6 so that it wouldn't be too visually busy (or make my computer die during editing). --- If you enjoy my music, please visit my Patreon page and consider becoming a patron of the arts! And a plate of Irish stew wouldn’t do us any harm, And a plate of Irish stew wouldn’t do us any harm, Oh, a plate of Irish stew wouldn’t do us any harm, And we’ll all hang on behind! [Chorus] And a nice fat cook wouldn't do us any harm, And a nice fat cook wouldn't do us any harm, Oh, a nice fat cook wouldn't do us any harm, And we’ll all hang on behind! [Chorus] And another watch below wouldn't do us any harm, And another watch below wouldn't do us any harm, And another watch below wouldn't do us any harm, And we’ll all hang on behind! [Chorus] And another night ashore wouldn't do us any harm, And another night ashore wouldn't do us any harm, Oh, another night ashore wouldn't do us any harm, And we’ll all hang on behind! [Chorus x2]
