How to Align your Telescope Axis with your Polar Axis

If your German Equatorial Telescope Mount is not locating accurately, it may be that your telescope's axis is not lined up precisely with your mount's polar or RA axis. In this video I discuss how to determine if your telescope is lined up with your polar axis and if it is not, how to fix the problem. The problem is known as cone error. Almost all telescopes have some amount of cone error and your motorized German Equatorial Mount can compensate for it most of the time. However, if your cone error is great, the mount will not be able to compensate and your mount will not point accurately. So it is important to check for cone error and to fix it if you have it. In this video I will show you how.
