In this episode of biotech talks, Dr. Deepak Modi talks about his research at NIRRH. His lab focuses on the basics of pregnancy and embryo implants. His research is helping and will be helping infertile couples to get conceived. He also explains about different types of sexes and what is the difference between sex and gender. Dr. Modi has done research to understand the effect of Corona virus on pregnancy of which he gives an overview in this episode of biotech talks. Dr. Deepak Modi is a PhD in Human genetics and currently a scientist at ICMR-NIRRH at Mumbai, India. His lab is interested in understanding the molecular basis of embryo-endometrial cross talk at implantation and early placentation and how these processes go awry leading to infertility, recurrent implantation failure, endometriosis and preterm births. In addition, his lab is addressing the genetic basis of Disorders of Sex Development (DSDs) and male infertility.
