2025年10月　名古屋・熱田をゆったり歩く1日。 千年以上の時を刻む熱田神宮と、まちに新しい風を吹かせるあつたnagAya。 古と新がやさしく繋ぐ時間を感じに行きました。 熱田神宮 第1鳥居は南門から。 「草薙神剣（くさなぎのつるぎ）」を祀っていることでも有名です。 ご利益は家内安全や無病息災、縁結びや出世開運など幅広いようです。 樹齢1,000年以上と伝えられる「大楠」は、本宮に向かって左側、第2鳥居の先に位置します。 「大楠」には白蛇が住んでいると言われ、白蛇に出会うと金運アップのご利益があるそうですよ！（私は出会えませんでした） 本宮の脇にある「こころの小径」にある「清水社」。水の神様である、罔象神（みずはのめのかみ）を祀っています。裏手には「お清水さま」と呼ばれる湧き水が流れていて、この湧水で目を洗うと目の病気が治ったという逸話が伝わっていますが、それはチャレンジしませんでしたが、石碑に水を3回かけて祈願すれば、願いが叶うと言われているので、チャレンジしました。湧水で肌を洗えば肌が綺麗になる効果もあるとのことで、手を洗ってみました。気持ちすべすべになったような。気のせいかも？ お守りは「勝守」と「旅行守」をいただきました。 境内にある「宮きしめん」できしめんを食べました。 美味しかった！ あつたnagAyaは長屋にいろいろなお店が入っていて活気がありました。 A Relaxing Day Strolling Around Nagoya and Atsuta – October 2025 I spent a leisurely day walking through Atsuta in Nagoya — visiting the Atsuta Jingu Shrine, which has stood for over a thousand years, and exploring atsuta nagAya, a lively spot breathing new life into the area. It was a day to feel the gentle connection between the old and the new. ⸻ Atsuta Jingu Shrine I entered from the south gate, through the First Torii gate. The shrine is famous for enshrining the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, one of Japan’s Three Sacred Treasures. People come here to pray for many blessings — such as safety at home, good health, good relationships, and success in life. Just beyond the Second Torii gate, on the left side as you head toward the main shrine, stands the great camphor tree, said to be over 1,000 years old. It’s believed that a white snake lives in the tree, and seeing it brings good fortune and wealth — though I didn’t have the luck to meet it myself! Along the “Kokoro-no-Komichi” (Path of the Heart) beside the main shrine is Shimizusha, dedicated to Mizuhanome-no-kami, the deity of water. Behind it flows a sacred spring called Oshimizu-sama. Legend says that washing your eyes with this water can cure eye ailments, though I didn’t try that. Instead, I followed the custom of pouring water over a stone monument three times while making a wish — it’s said that doing so makes your wish come true. It’s also believed that washing your skin with the spring water will make it beautiful, so I tried washing my hands — and they did feel a little smoother… or maybe it was just my imagination! I received two charms: a Victory Amulet (Kachimamori) and a Travel Amulet (Ryokoumamori). ⸻ Lunch at “Miya Kishimen” Inside the shrine grounds, I had a bowl of kishimen noodles at Miya Kishimen. It was delicious! ⸻ atsuta nagAya Later, I visited atsuta nagAya, a renovated row-house complex filled with various unique shops.
