Thorne breaks the sad news about Amber’s baby to Ridge and Taylor. Ridge asks him to pass along how sorry he is, but Thorne thinks Ridge should go to the hospital to support Rick. Eric thinks Amber will come back fighting, but Stephanie wonders how many times someone can be knocked down before losing all hope. When Amber says she wants to meet her baby, she notices Rick’s sad reaction. Rick tells Amber if little Eric is the only child they ever have it’d be enough. Amber knows Rick wants a house full of kids. Rick’s reaction alarms Amber. She is horrified when she reaches down and realizes she is no longer pregnant. Rick sadly tells Amber their baby died. Amber questions why she even looked toward a happy future when it’s never going to happen for her.
