One comfortable day in a developer’s life – a meditative, wordless, and unhurried narrative about the routines and rituals that shape our daily lives. Sometimes, it’s important to slow down and just “touch the grass” during a lunch break in the park while doing your job well, day after day. Routine isn’t dull or monotonous – it’s a way of caring for yourself every day. The simplest habits can become personal anchors in this big, noisy world: reading a book before bed, reaching 10,000 steps a day, or starting the morning with a glass of water and a myofascial release ball. The main character of this video is Tolya Okhremenko, a UX researcher. We simply captured his real working day. The script is based on the schedule he follows every weekday. "Every day, we make hundreds of decisions—from choosing what to have for breakfast to tackling work tasks that impact the bigger picture. Routine helps save mental energy and focus, which I think is really great. I always know that from Monday to Friday, I have lunch at 1 PM. I always know that from Monday to Friday, I start making breakfast and brewing coffee at 8 AM. And this habit – brewing coffee in a pour-over – is something I really enjoy. Grinding the beans by hand, placing the paper filter in the dripper, heating the water, and smelling the freshly ground coffee – these small rituals bring me a lot of peace and joy. I remember a colleague once told me that she always reserves 30 minutes in her calendar for reading. I don’t do it every day, but I also schedule time for little things that help me unwind, step away from work, take a deep breath, and come back recharged."
