In this video, we explore the concept of relativistic kinetic energy and its formula. As we know, the traditional formula for kinetic energy (1/2mv²) works well for objects moving at low speeds, but it fails to take into account the relativistic effects that occur at high speeds. First, we derive the relativistic kinetic energy formula using Einstein's famous equation E=mc². We show how this formula takes into account the increase in an object's mass as it approaches the speed of light, which leads to an increase in its kinetic energy. Next, we discuss the concept of rest mass energy, which is the energy that an object possesses even when it is at rest. We show how this energy can be calculated using the famous equation E=mc². Finally, we go through some examples and problems to help you better understand the concepts and equations involved in relativistic kinetic energy.
