Emani and Elauni Bennett didn’t always know they were Division I players. Now they’re doing it together for the UMKC Roos Women's Basketball. The foundation of who they are wasn’t built in a gym. It was built watching their family run Our House Your House KC, a Kansas City organization that supports mentally and physically disabled adults. Being exposed to that environment at a young age gave them perspective most athletes don’t grow up with. Responsibility felt normal. Service felt expected. Accountability wasn’t optional. That mindset shaped how they approached basketball — and how they handled the moments when they questioned if they were good enough to play at this level.
