Students at Fresno State gathered Wednesday night for a vigil honoring conservative activist Charlie Kirk, whose death earlier this month continues to stir emotions and political debate nationwide. The event, hosted by the university’s chapter of Turning Point USA, drew dozens of students, supporters, and community leaders. With candles, prayers and American flags, speakers reflected on Kirk’s influence as a founder of the conservative youth organization and his reputation as a sharp and often polarizing voice on college campuses. Central Valley Assemblyman David Tangipa addressed the crowd, calling Kirk a champion of free speech. “The part that breaks my heart is how he’s been demonized and how many people called him a Nazi,” Tangipa said. “I don’t remember Hitler going to college campuses, walking up to people and saying, ‘debate my ideas.’ Charlie advocated for your freedom to express yourself, regardless of how you feel.” MORE: https://bit.ly/41VwJMP Stay up to date with our social media: KMPH on Facebook: / kmphfox26 KMPH on Twitter / X : / kmphfox26 KMPH on Instagram: / kmphfox26 Subscribe to KMPH on YouTube: / @kmphfox26 Daily News Playlist: • The News For more information, visit https://kmph.com/ #Fresno #California #trending #video #charliekirk #fresnostate #memorial #candlelightvigil #tpusa Have a news tip?
