This digitised cine film is Part Two of Devon during July 1971! The adventure kicks off on the Exmouth Promenade, which is oddly deserted despite the warm summer vibes. Watch as boats and ships glide by, with a flurry of motor boats creating excitement. Get ready for thrilling yachting action as sailors prepare their dinghies and yachts for what looks like an exhilarating race! Meanwhile, anglers cast their lines off the jetty while the yacht competition unfolds. Next, the bustling town centre comes into view, teeming with parked cars. Then it’s off to Sidmouth, far livelier than Exmouth! Cars line the roads as they zoom towards the camera, and the charming Rock Cottage appears—a stunning 19th-century gem with its iconic thatched roof and distinct bracketed eaves, proudly standing as a Grade II listed treasure. Connaught Gardens bursts with colourful blooms, and as the camera sweeps to the beach, the breath taking view unfolds with Rock Cottage on the left and an awe-inspiring panorama to the right!
