When a stage performance at school went awry and kids in the audience laughed at me, I couldn’t help feeling that I’d made a complete fool of myself. I never wanted to feel that way again. So, eight year old me decided that ‘it’s best to stick to what I’m good at from now’. I started making safe choices and slowly edited all the adventure out of my life, one safe choice at a time, until I could barely recognise myself in the mirror. By trying to be mistake proof, don’t we also lose out on the intelligence of mistakes? Monika Vijh is a Life Strategist, who works with intelligent, resourceful individuals to turn challenges into opportunities and fulfil their potential - in relationships, at work and with their body.
