Retired in Portugal - April 2025

It has been a while and we have been quite busy making the most of brief spells of good weather, having family over and meeting up with friends. Just a few things going on worthy of sharing. But loads of boring day to day stuff not inspiring enough to pick up the camera. Meeting our new English couple in the village was priceless. Such a nice couple and Simon is quite the artist. Seeing his work and studio has got Wayne’s creative juices flowing again and might even get him to take up painting again! (and the musician was just incredible and talented!). Lots of walks and hikes are the thing we do all the time because, well, because we are surrounded by beautiful nature, packed with trails and hiking routes all around us. There is something to discover around every bend. And, discover is what we did with our neighbours in Serra Santo António (we call it Rock-a-Serra). There are so many interesting routes, just over the hill from us, and while going on a “foraging” walk on a friends birthday we saw so much hidden gems it was amazing! Anyway, there are a few ideas mulling over for the direction of the channel, so if you want to see, walking, discovering new places, or art creation etc, let us know in the comments.
