Dr. Shereen Sharaan recently obtained her PhD in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh with a focus on thinking skills (executive functions) in bilingual autistic children, an area that has received little attention in the scientific community. Born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, Shereen had been actively involved in the field of autism throughout her life, as she grew up with an inspirational younger autistic brother, who became the first autistic child in the Emirates to receive mainstream school inclusion and graduate high school.
