What do fire skulls have to do with Christmas? For that matter, what are fire skulls? These answers and more await you in this video! (or in this description if you read further.) Fire skulls are skull shaped fire bricks. They are made of a special cement specifically designed to endure high heat. In this video I show you how I made some miniature fire skulls as a Christmas present for my friend Laura. Merry Christmas Laura! Shut up, Josh! This project was a fair amount of work, but overall, pretty simple to do. I started by building a make-shift rack to hold the skulls while the cement dries. To mold the skulls I got a bunch of cheap dollar store blow molded skulls left over from Halloween, and cut off the underside of the jaw. I mixed up 25 pounds of refractory cement to a consistence just thin enough to pour into my molds, but no thinner. Then I sprayed the inside of each skull with WD-40 before scooping the cement in through the hole I cut. The skulls were placed on my rack to harden for 2 days (just to be safe). I cut the plastic skulls apart to get the cement skulls out then did a little filing along the rough edge along the jaw to clean them up. They look GREAT! I'm super excited and can't wait for Laura to see them! This being my last video before Christmas, I wanted to wish a very Merry Christmas to all my friends and family and of course to all my viewers- You twelve people are the best audience a guy could have! Ha! Also, here's a special Christmas shout out to my friends over at Parkour Trainers! These guys are cool! check out their channel at the link below: / @thatcool2560
