The Struggle for Implementation of the Memorandum of Settlement HPWS submitted a memo to the Dima Hasao district commissioner requesting to recommend to the State government for the proper implementation of MoS on recently. As an organization of former Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) cadres, Halali Progressive Welfare Society Umrangso has been democratically fighting for the implementation of the Memorandum of Settlement (MOS) signed between the DHD brothers and the Government of Assam, India on October 8, 2012. The MOS was a landmark agreement aimed at bringing peace and prosperity to the region. However, more than thirteen years have passed, and the promises made in the agreement remain unfulfilled. HPWS Umrangso, registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO), has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights of former DHD cadres. Beyond their efforts to implement the MOS, the organization is actively involved in social work, including education and flood relief distribution. The society's primary demands include the rehabilitation of former DHD cadres, withdrawal of all cases against them, and the implementation of all clauses of the MOS in letter and spirit. Despite numerous prayers and requests, the organization has yet to see tangible results. In a heartfelt appeal to the District Commissioner of Dima Hasao, the HPWS Umrangso has urged for sympathetic consideration of their grievances and swift action to recommend their concerns to the state and central governments. The plea highlights the organization's unwavering commitment to justice and the well-being of the community. As the District Commissioner, it is imperative to acknowledge the concerns of HPWS Umrangso and work towards finding a solution that brings closure and prosperity to the former DHD cadres and the community at large. The ball is in the court of the authorities to respond to the society's appeal and work towards a brighter future for the people of Dima Hasao.
