It is located in the middle of the state. As the state capital since 1910, "OKC" grew rapidly in the 1920s after oil was discovered nearby. Since then, the oil industry has been the most significant part of the city's economy. Today, Oklahoma is known for its cowboy culture, its history with Native Americans, and its beautiful natural areas. There is much to discover about the state, from its iodine production to its oil and gas industries. Oklahoma is also known for being a significant contributor to the wind energy industry and a great place to take a road trip with many beautiful places to see.
