Art journaling is a therapeutic, non-verbal, and intuitive process. It can help you process difficult emotions, that sometimes words can not express. By blending visual art of any kind with writing (if you want), it allows for subconscious exploration, reducing stress and enhancing mental health. It can promote personal growth, boosts self-esteem, and offers a safe, judgment-free space to explore personal thoughts and feelings. There is no wrong or right way to do art journalling. There are techniques you can learn along the way but basically there are as many ways to do this as there are people who do it. This lack of rules removes the pressure of performance, allowing for genuine, raw expression. The physical, tactile nature of using materials (paper, paint, glue, lace, material, plants etc) provides a grounding experience that helps calm the nervous system and allow you the freedom to explore. I always loved papers and pens and journals so I find this type of art very beneficial and it was something I started when I became very unwell because it gave me an outlet other than the continuous specialists I was attending, at one point 3 a week. I have different art journals that I do differnt things in, it is a personal preference. You can make your own journal with bits of papers you have laying around or buy ones. Or you don't have to have a journal at all and just use pieces of paper you have laying around like old magazines, newspapers etc Art journalling is also like a muscle, the more you do it the "better" you become as in the more you feel safe to experiment with different mediums. I hope you enjoyed this brief overview video and if you want more information please let me know. I am not a great artist nor am I an art therapist. The information I give is from my personal experience of using this art form to get me through a difficult time in my life, and one I find beneficial to continue using. Happy journalling everyone
