This one was fun! 1:05:25 for a half marathon as a workout. I thought that my fitness was in a good spot coming off of my achilles tear and peroneal tendonitis, and this one really validated that. My girlfriend, Allison, was going out to NY to race the Trials of Miles Project 13.1, and had heard that they were looking for pacers, so I reached out about helping out. They fortunately needed a pacer for the 65 minute half marathon group, which is 4:57 mile pace. Based on my workouts back here in Boulder, I knew that would be just about perfect for me to use as a long session. I brought the pack through 7 miles in 34:40 or so and tucked back into the group to finish out the race. It lagged slightly after that but I was still stoked to be able to run basically 5 flat pace all the way home. Not a bad day for 5 weeks of training and really no taper. 50k Champs coming up in 15 days, and after that we start the World Record Build!
