Welcome aboard the InterCity 8 from Romanshorn to Brig! We're in Romanshorn and our train is ready to depart. This is a typical Swiss InterCity line with stops only at major stations on the way. Romanshorn is all the way in the northeast, right at the shores of Lake Constance, while Bern sits in a mid-westerly position, close to the French-speaking part of Switzerland. We cover almost 200km of distance on this trip, in just a little over two hours of time. After our departure in Zurich, we won't stop until Bern. This is also where the train drives at it highest speed of 200km/h until just before Bern. After our arrival in Bern, the train changes its direction of travel and continues further to Brig. It is a beautiful late winter day and you'll get to see how much the weather and visibility changes on this trip. Experience sun, haze and thick mist from the front of the cab. Trains do not slow for bad weather conditions, be prepared to plow into the unknown at full speed!
