Fly tying a March Brown spey salmon fly by Fabien Moulin

Small spey flies are just a pleasure to ty, this one here is inspired from the book from the Norwegian Erling Olsen “Mine beste fluer”. The Salar single hook or the Patriot have the form I like for this type of flies and the are strong hooks too. This one is tied with silver tag and rib embossed tinsel, the same can be done with gold. A red feather from a gold pheasant skin for the tail, natural dubbing mix from camel, hare mask and opposum. Brown rump pheasant feather for hackle and some angel hair under the mallard wings. The thread is color wine size8. This is a fly that I am exited to fish with next summer!
