Sorry it took so long, summer has been trifling. It is here now. I will say, I feel like this play is quite a bit different than the Kotone version, which was appreciated when mindlessly time-syncing things that I've already translated. For example, the guys improvising with the audience members was fun. Elizabeth was appreciated as well. Also, friendly reminder that I am not fluent but did the best I could. I have such a hard time choosing thumbnails for Sakuya. I just thought, Kotone's act 3 thumbnail was of her in the bath so Sakuya's can be too. I don't know. I thought way too hard about it. I still do. Sources: Lyrics to Brand New Days and Soul Phrase: SMT Wiki P3P subtitle font: / dialogue_fonts Translation of the Yubikiri (pinky swear) Song: https://www.thejapanesepage.com/yubik... Translation of 近い as "too close" - @phoenixmaiika 's translation of act 1 aka The Blue Awakening. Kotone version: • [Kotone version] Persona 3: The Weird Masq... Sakuya version: • [Sakuya version] Persona 3: The Weird Masq... Notes: -At 01:16, 1:46:59, and 2:16:43, you may notice I put two lines of text, when I usually put one. I really, really hate to do that just cuz I read really fast and I think it looks ugly, but unfortunately, these three statements were a bit too fast to justify splitting them in half. Enjoy. Hopefully I will never have to do that again. -At 1:06:49, Sakuya is mouthing "arigato," aka thank you. Elizabeth didn't understand and thus tried to one-shot kill him lmao. -At 1:07:45, and 1:08:15, I'm sorry if that seems lazy, it's just that I genuinely don't even know onomatopoeias in English. パチパチ (pachipachi) is the onomatopoeia for clapping but honestly idk wtf Junpei was saying after that. It sounded like an explosion to me so, explosion it is. Look, I ain't perfect, I accept that. -Junpei's audience improv was tough to translate as Genki Ookawa speaks so fast and is so fucking funny, but I think I got it? Also, I was just guessing at the "Junpei's Believe It, or Don't," what he said was, "Iori Junpei Hour." I didn't feel like opening the game and playing it in Japanese just to find out whether it was localized as such. So yeah, might be wrong, but I like it this way! -“Mitsuru would never say, ‘fuck’” (1:46:55) - Normally I'd agree, but losing your dad really fucks you up. How do I know that, you ask? Well. Infer from that what you will. Anyway, she clearly hates that picture and what it reminds her of. What she says is just, "mou, konna mono," which given the context is something like, "I can't stand to look at this thing anymore." But like, she hates that picture, she hates it, she's trying to rip it apart. The "fucking" adds necessary emphasis. Mitsuru can say fuck once. As a treat. Also, you're all adults, Persona 3 is an M-rated game, I think you can handle seeing the fuck word.
