On our final day of Spiritual Emphasis, third grade teachers and students led chapel continuing the focus on this year’s chapel theme of “heroes”. Through their performance, they conveyed the message of love and compassion of Jesus Christ intertwined with the rich tapestry of American history. The audience was enthralled by an immersive experience at the wax museum, where the students paid tribute to a diverse array of American and Biblical heroes. The pinnacle of the event was a momentous surprise visit by 12 real-life American Heroes, representing various military branches, first responders, as well as esteemed individuals such as a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, a preacher, and a missionary. The performance was a testament to the students' dedication and hard work, and left a lasting impression of gratitude and admiration towards the American Heroes who selflessly serve our country and communities while always pointing back to the love of Jesus. Thank you to Lieutenant Colonel Casey Sreenan (Air Force), Navy Petty Officer First Class Jarrad Gray (Navy), TKA Director of Security and Marine Core Officer, Jonathan Bradley, HS1 Steven Zea (Coast Guard), Sergeant Tom Thyroff (Broward County Sheriff’s Office Criminial Investigations Division), Driver Engineer Justin Rantin (Firefighter), Dr. George Gurdock (Chief of Staff and Emergency Department Medical Director at Good Samaritan Medical Center), Ashley Cabrera (TKA Nurse), Heather Muir (TKA Art Teacher), Pastor Jimmy Muir (Family Church Sherbrooke), and Abby Lettsome (TKA Librarian and former missionary in Nanyuki, Kenya. #TKAHeroes Copyright: The King's Academy, Inc., 2023.
