I’m asked often where do you get your ideas? The truth and nothing but the truth - I see things. It might be something I saw in a movie, a documentary, a film set, a magazine or in today’s tutorial… an image I spotted on an HGTV home makeover show. Don’t ask me which one, because I just can’t remember because I watch so many… but my eye spotted an empty mercury glass jar and I instantly remembered I had several of the same shape in my studio & in my bunker I had mercury or mirror glass spray paint! It's so easy to create and really as a spot of glam, these are divine! Method: All you need to do is ensure the glass is seriously super clean. I like to use isopropyl alcohol to make sure it is. Allow to dry. Go outside and set up a safe spray area. Wear safety glasses, mask and gloves. Mixed up in a spray bottle ½ white vinegar with ½ water. You’ll also need a soft lint free rag or paper towels. Hit the surface of the exterior of the glass or vase with a fine coat of mirror glass spray. Immediately hit it with mists of the vinegary water. Immediately dab the surface with the rag or paper towel. Wait a moment or two and then repeat with 5 more coats. Total of 6 is normally required. I leave mine untouched for a good 24 hours to fully cure off. Now to part two… filling with phalaenopsis orchids & foliage, maiden hair fern, branches and hanging glass tea light holder and battery powered tea lights!
