I want to talk about the sequence of events that needs to happen for the furnace to start blowing warm air into your house. We’ll start at the thermostat and go all the way to the blower turning on forcing air into the rooms of your house. First, we'll I'll tell you about how the thermostat calls for heat and sends the signal to the furnace. Next up, the inducer motor comes on and evacuates the heat exchanger tubes from and stale gasses and air. Then we talk about the pressure switch that verifies the inducer motor is working properly. Once that happens, the ignition sequence begins. The hot surface ignitor glows, the gas valve opens. The flame starts, and the flame sensor recognizes that.
