Time has come to do something with the black walnut slab we've had knocking around the garage for the last few years. This is actually a very simple yet rewarding project that anyone can handle with simple tools and a weekend's worth of dust. No planer was used in this one so if you have access to a drill, sander, wire wheels, and some legs you're sorted. Full list of tools used listed below. What I used: Slab of wood, Hand sander, 150, 220, and 400 grit sand paper, Power drill, Wire wheels, Wipe-on poly, Lint free rags, Paint brush, Plastic scraper for applying poly, Hairpin legs, Furniture screw in nut/hardware, Hardware for attaching legs.
