Bambi is an individual whom identifies as non-binary & was 20 years of age during the time this was filmed, there are people who are sleeping on cold concrete footpaths on the streets in the City of Melbourne, Australia, homeless & suffering with poor mental health conditions, while Bambi is experiencing both, Bambi is also a sex worker. Bambi's unheard voice is a reflection of the pain in the heart of Melbourne, another young soul who is just trying to survive out there by themselves on the streets, staying between hostels, peoples houses and sometimes sleeping on the streets. Bambi makes money as a sex worker independently & wants to change the industry by helping other young people make better decisions in their lives, or want to work independently escorting safer and legal for instance, like not working on the streets so young & vulnerable to abuse and violence, to help guide them in the right directions especially when they're experiencing a crisis in their lives. Bambi is a poet, singer, writer, artist and loves creating music. U.V.M wants to interview Bambi in the near future, asking a broader range of questions to clarify & get a better understanding of what lead up to their circumstances in their life, and if they're still homeless doing sex-work as a means to make money to get by on the street of Melbourne. We hope this footage raises awareness of matters such as teenage prostitution, showing the vulnerability of a person who is kicked out of their family home as a teenager 18 years of age, showing the complex nature of having to work on the streets as a prostitute, the stigmas associated with sex work and the abuse the industry gets because of young adults prostituting independently. Not knowing what to do or where to go is so risky and profound for any young adult sex worker, stuck on the streets of St Kilda, a place in Melbourne notorious for prostitution, street sex-work & crimes such as rape, abductions, murders, violence, drug dealings & drug abuse. Homelessness can effect anyone at any given moment, it doesn't discriminate. I do not condone or agree with teenage prostitution, I think it is wrong. It's an issue that needs to be raised, and addressed, and something people need to be aware of in the society they live in, & around the World.
