How to kill citrus gall wasp larvae immediately without harm to either your tree or bees. Two drops of Confidor insecticide was mixed with a teaspoon of acrylic house paint and applied to the galls. Importantly, this treatment should only be carried out when there is no blossom on your citrus tree. Even minute amounts of Confidor can kill bees and as it may travel through the tree, I would not apply if flowering was likely within a month. I was only dealing with a few small galls on potted orange, grapefruit and lemon trees. I wouldn't recommend this for older, heavy infestations where pruning is probably still the best option.
