Siliski Soaps (http://www.siliskisoaps.com/) began making soaps, like many artisans, in order to get a healthier and cleaner ingredients list in their everyday soap use. The brand makes shaving soap, pre/post shave, hand soap, body soap and shampoo. The company prides itself on using high quality, natural ingredients and they never use palm products in their soap making process. Always looking to improve, Andrew Siliski, the owner/operator of the brand continues to revise his soap formulation to provide the best possible product. Internal Calamity features scent notes of; Bergamot, Cardamom, Juniper, Fir, Armoise, Opopanax, Oakmoss and Labdanum. The scent is well blended and deciphering individual notes is not easy. The overall accord is earthy and approaching dark. This is a perfect scent for the fall months and approaching winter climate. As you probably have already guessed, Mrs. Ruds does not approve of this scent because of it’s earthiness. Strength of scent is medium to strong on this release. Try That Soap (https://trythatsoap.com/) recommends Phoenix & Beau - Luna as a comparable scent profile. Siliski Soaps has been working on a vegan base update for nearly a year. This iteration includes ingredients that can be found here; https://www.siliskisoaps.com/shaving-.... The base is extremely firm but remains tremendously easy load and lathering soap. The thirst of this soap is among what’d I consider average considering the ingredients. The lather develops generously with the addition of water and agitation. When dialed-in the lather consistency is much like cold sour cream. Both primary slickness and residual slickness are excellent. Post shave feels amazing and is very luxurious. This post shave is among the very best in a vegan soap base. In my experience, this base makes a huge leap in performance over previous Siliski Soap iterations. Given the results and my experiences using this latest base, the ShaveScore clocks in at an 96. For a similar experience with performance I suggest Hub City Soaps Raider base.
