An early morning walk through Southampton after being woken by a 4am hypo. This is an archived walk from spring last year. Not being able to get back to sleep, I decided to head out before the rain arrived later in the day. At the time, I hadn’t been out walking for a couple of weeks and was starting to feel a bit stuck at home, so getting outside felt like exactly what I needed. The walk starts at Miller’s Pond in Southampton, heading through Mayflower Park and the Jubilee Butterfly Walk, before making our way down to Weston Shore and along the coast towards Netley and Hamble. It’s a really varied route, mixing woodland paths, waterfront views and sections of the England Coast Path. A gentle, honest walk managing type 1 diabetes, low blood sugars, and just the need to get outside. No big challenge, no pressure just walking. This channel isn’t about offering medical advice, it’s simply about documenting my own experiences of walking with Type 1 diabetes, the challenges that come with it, and the freedom that being outdoors still brings. Thanks for joining me on this archived walk. If you enjoyed the video, please like, subscribe, and leave a comment , it genuinely helps support the channel.
