UPDATE -May 11, 2018: I received a message from Kevin Cooney regarding this video: "So i just saw this and it was a trip back in time — I shot this! We had a new camera in the newsroom called a "scoopic." It had an electronic shutter which meant no "flash frames," and you could edit in the camera. So I went around shooting two frames at a time and we put it together as a promo. There were a few actual "glued edits" but it was mostly edited "in camera." Pretty sure I haven’t seen it since it was aired. Thanks for posting it." Original description: A KCCI TV-8 News promotion -- shot and edited on film (the number of edits in this 1 minute piece boggles the modern mind). When looking at the 'slate' for the Contact 8 recording (with my dad, George Wylie), it looks like the year is 1972.
