At nine months old she was diagnosed with advanced bi-lateral retinoblastoma (cancerous tumours of her eyes) which led to six sessions of chemotherapy causing for her to undergo blood and platelette transfusion. As a result Lucy lost her sight in both eyes. This hasn't stopped her though, and from around the age of two years old, she was exploring music in different forms, playing around with musical toys making different sounds and rhythms. She was then given a little book with a keyboard attatched to it and started playing tunes on it, beginning with her favorite nursery rhyme Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Lucy then moved on to a children's keyboard and again she just kept improving. Everything she hears she can play back to you - it's just incredible and she even puts her own spin on it too. We're very proud of our little lady she truly is a star in her own right and proof that whatever is thrown at you in this life you can overcome."
