At IWA 2026, we stopped by the Korth booth and took a look at something most people don’t even know exists: the Korth PRS, a roller-locking .45 ACP autoloader designed by Korth’s current owner, Martin Röttmann. Unlike traditional Browning short-recoil pistols, the PRS uses a roller locking system inspired by designs seen in firearms like the MP5, MG42, and HK P9. The system runs with a fixed barrel, contributing to exceptional mechanical accuracy and extremely tight tolerances. Korth machines approximately 95% of the components in-house, and each pistol is built by a single gunsmith from start to finish. The PRS features a 1911-style frame layout, single-stack magazine, manual safety, and a factory trigger pull around 1,400 grams, with custom tuning options available upon request. Barrel weight and extended configurations have also been offered. Originally retailing around €5,000, the PRS is no longer in active production due to manufacturing focus on Korth’s revolver line. Today, used examples command €12,000–15,000 in Germany and approximately $20,000–$25,000 in the United States, driven almost entirely by scarcity. Will Korth bring it back? They wouldn’t say no. But if they do, expect a wait.
