These are my top 5 vocal exercises for guys. These exercises will improve your vocal range, tone, power, pitch and agility. Each exercise starts in a low bass range and gradually ascends to high tenor. Check out the timestamps and chapters for recommended starting notes for baritones and tenors. Make sure you sing in a comfortable range and if the exercise becomes too high stop and move on. You will here my baritone voice demonstrating each exercise. This is great to develop confidence and strength in your voice. We will use the LA sound for forward tone and tongue placement. This exercise will require you to leap through a larger range. This is great for expanding your vocal range and improving your pitch. We will use the mum sound for forward resonance. Make sure you don't push or strain to sing the highest note of each arpeggio. We will sing the YA sound to encourage a dropped jaw postion. In this exercise you will sing 8 ascending and 8 descending notes to form the major scale. This exercise will expand and strengthen your range. It will also help to improve your pitch. We will use the vowels EE AY and AH for this exercise. As you sing higher you will need to modify your vowel shapes. As you approach the highest notes you will need to shift into mixed and head voice.
